Anyone else getting weak reception?

I just got back from the T-Mo store with the G2x. It's showing 10-15dBm weaker signal than my Moto Defy (20dBm for the T-Mo mifi). My office building is problematic for all carriers however T-Mo fares best. My Defy avg. about -91dBm, and the G2x is over -103dBm, dropping to -115dBm, and (0) bars. Surprisingly I was able to make a call with 0-bars, however I'm concerned about battery life if ever in a weak signal area.

If the G2x is not as good as the Defy, which I already lose signal in some buildings I frequent, then the G2x will definitely suffer. Shame, everything else is pretty nice...esp. since it comes with a free screen protector.

Also, FWIW, I'm waiting for my unlock code...seems that its "too new". Rep was surprised that the IMEI number "did not" start with "35xxx". Waiting to use it on AT&T plan for $10/mo. He put in a ticket so hopefully in a few days.

Edit - It looks like the cellular antenna is on the bottom, by the capacitive buttons. If holding the "top-half" of the phone, dBm goes to -97 (acceptable), but holding the bottom of the phone, it drops to -115dBm.

Your 100% correct. I had to return mine. I'm hoping they fix the problem then I will buy it again cuz its fast as heck plus I would like to see how Gingerbread 2.3 will run on it. I have emailed LG about the problem, they advised me to inform Tmobile first. These corporate companies are so stuck on proceedures that they lose customers and money for not listening to there customers themselves.

I also had to return my g2x. My G1 was getting better data and voice signal in the exact same spots. Sometimes my G1 would be 3g and the g2x would be edge in the exact same spot :(
