Root anyone else have horrible signal quality with aosp roms vs sense based? a

i have tried various aosp roms including meanbean, pacman and jellybam. and whenever i try to use them...my signal quality drops to 1 or 2..from 5 or 6 with any sense based rom. i dont know why this is...even custom sense roms have 5 or 6 bars...i read somewhere on htc site that they have some program on there sense that finds best tower or something.... its very frustrating because i love stock android..and look and feel. i want to try new roms...but always get horrible quality...so always end up switching to sense based...currently on viper with arc kernel.

well roms really do not mess with radios. the do have different ways of showing you what your signal strength is. i'm on jelly beer right now and my signal strength have been the same with pacman as well as carbon.

The images used to display signal in AOSP roms are only 4 bars, compared to 6 in Sense roms. Your signal is the same, just visually displayed differently.

If you load an app called Open Signal Maps from the Play Store, it'll show your signal in dBm's. Check the value in AOSP, then restore a Sense rom and check it again. It "should" be pretty close to the same. :)
