Help anyone else notice spell correction is intermittent?

Just noticed yesterday that sometimes the autocorrect words dont appear in that bar above the keyboard and then it does again next time i type something.

Spell correction is indeed checked in the settings.

Thanx

same for me. always works in text/e-mail messages, seems to have a mind of it's own in the browser. this applies to both the stock keyboard and swiftkey X.

ahhh thank you lol glad i'm not the only one. probably something that will be cured with the 4.0.3 update. :)

i have haven't tried my swiftkey on the GN that i bought, but i also have the slideit keyboard that i haven't tried.

If it applies to Swiftkey too, it is not a keyboard problem. This leads me to think that text fields are being misidentified. If you go to type a password, coorection is off to make it easier. I think certain fields may be misidentified by the OS/keyboard/app (IDK which has the job of identifying a field) and thus spell correct is off.

Confirmed it doesn't always work in the Facebook app (actually I barely remember it ever working in there the past 4 days)

Yes! It doesn't even place a space after punctuation automatically like normal. Its almost likeit thinks I'm entering a password.

If anyone finds out how to change this, post it here. SwiftKey treating most internet message boards like password forms is annoying.

I have noticed that the predictions in SwiftKey seem to not function whenever an app wants to do its own predicting.
Browser- wants to suggest what site you might be typing in. Drops down from the top. Keyboard does not predict words.
Gmail- address field- the app searches your contacts and predictions drop down from the field rather than on top of the keyboard. But SwifKey works fine for Subject and Message fields.
Google Maps- app wants to predict the location you are entering, keyboard does not show predictions.
I have mostly seen this in Google apps, but I think it is happening at the individual app level.
Does that jibe with what others are seeing?

I've noticed it also behaves oddly when you jump around in the sentence. However these all seem like easily fixable software bugs and overall I'm really impressed at the new engine for text prediction -- it seems to fix 99% of the gripes I had with the old one (while added a few issues listed in this thread). However, I'm sure this will be smoothed out over the next few months.

Not fun to wait, but I'm glad they took the leap and tried to improve it, despite the bugs :)

Yep, definitely doesn't work on web pages or some apps (e.g., facebook). Very annoying. (Swiftkey btw)
