Root anyone else use z4root?

just did it real simple, i am now rooted but the big question is how do i deodex my phone? do i need to use a computer or can i do it without like how i rooted? im using a mac so the instructions posted are for using windows computers.

Could do it this way: 928DROID Releases Easy Deodox/Odex Method for DROIDX - Droid Life: A Droid Community Blog. Only thing is that your phone will have that theme on it afterward. Can always change it, though.

it seems stuck in the installing update after i try to install the zip file what should i do?

Themes take a long time to install.

You DID make a backup in recovery, right?

You should have these backups:
stock_rooted_2.3.15 (to upgrade with OTA)
deodexed_2.3.15 (to install new themes)
periodic backups

There are 3 928Droid themes. You should DL all 3 while you can. One deodexs, one removes the deodex and the third one removes the black theme while staying deodexed. The last one is what you want to install next.

I think that this is a problem for a lot of new people when putting a theme on their phone. I am included. The first time I did this and did it with 928 btw, I was starting to get nervous but then just left my desk for a while so I didn't jack anything up. Came back a while later and it was all set.
