Anyone else wish the text box was smaller?

Anyone else notice when you type a text message/email, the message box is huge and when it is combined with your keyboard, you can only see like 1 or 2 entries of the conversation? Think this must be a HTC sense thing because on my previous atrix, the message box was just a single line, maybe 2. Anyone know how to make it smaller?
 
Yes its a little annoying, as is the fact that the key board disappears when u send a message.
