Help Anyone get NFC working with their SGN?

Both devices have NFC turned on (Settings.... Wireless & Networks... more... NFC checked, Android Beam is turned on)

Running AOPK m6/Glados kernel on the SGN and stock 1.4.1 (rooted) on the N7.

Tapped them (back to back) until the cows came home with apps, contacts, you name it, and nothing.

I would think the problem is aopk, since it's not stock.

It definitely works with both devices stock. The hardest part was finding where the NFC sensor is on the N7. (Upper section) I was able to beam a photo between the two devices. It's interesting and easier than trying to pair bluetooth (that's how files actually get sent between the two devices) the old way but for some reason, it just doesn't feel as "slick" as it should.

Well google wallet doesn't work on rooted devices.
From Google Wallet - FAQ

Can or should I install Google Wallet on a rooted phone? -No, we do not support Google Wallet on rooted phones.

So NFC may be disabled on rooted phones all together.

I've successfully beamed two rooted SGNs before, so it's probably something else.
