Anyone have an IKEA mattress?

Our last trip to IKEA for a cheap dresser the wife and I looked at mattresses. We still have an old full size we sleep on now and were looking for a queen (not a huge size difference, but still). We, fortunately, agree on a very firm mattress so we looked at a few. This is the one we liked most:

Price is pretty cheap for a mattress, but not sure if it's worth it as a long time investment. Virtually our entire apartment is IKEA and some of it is fine, other pieces fall apart quickly.
Don't know much about their mattresses. Anyone own one or slept on one?
As an aside, recommendations on a firm mattress that will last us several years and won't break the bank? (really don't like memory foam style BTW)

Never had one of those but got a temperpedic and for the last 2 years I have slept like a baby and I have some slight back problems. You get what you pay for too. About a 1/3 of your life is sleeping, so I want that to be good. When I go away and sleep at relatives houses or motels can't wait to get back home.

Our current bed is kinda a piece of crap but I always pine for it whenever we stay away in hotels. Guess I'm just used to it. We'll probably wait a bit longer (when we move) for a new mattress and spend some coin.
Anyone have a sleep number?

I got one a few years ago and I have no complaints with it.

But then the one I had before was absolutely awful, so even a bed of nails would've been an improvement by comparison.

Which one do you have Xyro? Does it seem to hold up well?

I've no idea, to be honest. The only tag on it is the Sultan one, but most of them seem to be branded with that.

It must be close to 6 years old now that I think about it, so yeah, it seems to be holding up fine.

My brother recently got a memory foam mattress, he loves it. So that might be something to consider also.

I encourage anyone that likes a firmer mattress to look at the Temperpedic or at least one of the quality knock offs. I know you said you're not fond of the foam though. I hated it when we first tried it out because I felt like the mattress was trying to eat me. Now I really can't imagine unlife without it. The commercials don't lie, it really is the best night sleep.

Alright, we'll take a look at them. My only experience is we stayed at this B&B for a few days and that's what they had. Just thought it was so weird coming from a coil mattress, couldn't get used to it. Imagine those would have a pretty lengthy return policy though.

When we bought our IKEA mattress I was initially impressed. After not too long and because we'd sit on one side of it, it started changing shape. It also creeks a lot when one of us tries to get out of bed - which IKEA said it wouldn't when we bought it.

I recently slept on a mattress at the Wynn in Vegas and was blown away. I think next time I'll certainly be looking elsewhere.

I've been dying to get one. How does it compare to a sleep number do ya think?

Hmm white text useless on app, lol

Aren't the sleep number mattresses air mattresses? I've never used one, but we did have a blow up camping mattress, and it was moderately comfortable. I'd like to think the memory foam would be way nice though.

I couldn't say I've never used one, but my girlfriend has had to sleep on them when she travels and she hates them.

Yowzers, some interesting posts here:
Sleep Number or TempurPedic? (heat, smells, installed, mold) - remodeling, decorating, construction, energy use, kitchen, bathroom, bedroom, building, rooms - City-Data Forum

Two other things we're looking for: little to no creaking (I move quite a bit in my sleep, not the best sleeper :o) and not too hot. Neither of us like a hot bed and I'm really frugal with A/C.

Remember the commercial with the girl jumping on the bed and the glass of wine not spilling at the other end? That is just what it is like. You don't feel the other person moving at all. As far as heat goes, mine doesn't get hot at all.
