Anyone have any Certified refurb experience/issues

So long story short after installing slacker radio I was having software issues with my phone (no audio even on startup and mic not working during calls)

Went into verizon and they put in for a Certified Like New replacement. It came today but in the meantime I did a factory data reset and got my fascinate back to working.

So what should I do? Keep the factory refurb or keep my current phone?

Does anyone have any experience with refurbs that they care to share?

If the software glich is indicitive of issues to come, I would rather keep the working refurb however if refurbs are known to have problems, I would rather keep my current phone (bought new) of which I'm familiar with it's "quirks"

Thanks in Advance for any replies!

If your orig phone works, there's really no sense in 'rolling the dice' on a refurb.

I speak from experience on this. I had a SF and it completely died on me one day, but worked fine up until that point. Got a factory refurb, it was plagued with the glitch where it randomly activates the bottom buttons. Lead to me getting rid of the phone because it's an awful glitch.

OK well, I decided to keep my current device and send the refurb back.

After looking over the refurb, everything *looked* brand spankin new. Screen was perfect (no scratches), colors seemed OK, buttons all worked properly.

I have a couple of spare batteries for my phone so I popped one in the refurb while holding my existing phone in my other hand. I decided to choose based on things I could tell.

I booted each one up separately. Refurb seemed fine then I booted my phone. Mine was noticably louder on boot up.

I looked at the bottom buttons. Mine were noticably brighter than the refurb. I turned the vol. all the way up on the refurb and on my phone and powered down. Again, volume on mine noticably louder than on the refurb.

That's it. That's how I decided. I called customer service and asked if there was any special policy for returning a replacement that I really didn't need and they said no, just slap the label on. The receiving dept. should know by the number on the phone that it's the same refurb that was shipped to me.

Thanks for the advice. I agree. Another factor in why I kept mine. It really is more of a roll of the dice keeping the refurb than keeping mine. With mine, I know what it's been through, I am aware of any "quirks".
