Don't suppose you could point me to the specific one you found? Feeling like the ones I'm finding are on kinda sketchy sites. And any special instructions for installing it it might require...

Nevermind, found a thread elsewhere on this forum for other HTC folks that were having the same problem. Wonder why it didn't show up on my previous searches?

The Moto Droid version handles multiple Hotmail accounts just fine. Now to uninstall Touchdown and Roadsync! Thank God I discovered this before the demos expired...

Yep, I did the same thing. I have the Email.APK from xda-developers CM6 something or other with Exchange Security removed. Not sure of the advantages.

FYI...if you don't like the color the mail app assigns to the account....just remove and start over.

My hotmail reply to address is showing as "\username"@hotmail.com when using Touchdown. Does anyone know how to remedy this?

How old is your hotmail account? Is it possible that you have no name filled out in your hotmail profile. I am not sure about touchdown...but other EAS clients use what's on the server end for Name. I would check there first.

I'm having an odd problem here.

Used the vanilla Email program to configure Hotmail as an Exchange account. All of the sync settings are defined correctly. Email & calendar both work correctly, but contacts are not syncing. I purged all of the contacts from Outlook & Hotmail, copied them back into Outlook & verified that they synced to Hotmail; but they have not moved to the phone. A test contact made on the phone has not moved to Hotmail.

Gmail is set to sync email only.

Any ideas beyond wipe & try again?

Is the test contact a "PHONE" contact? That's all I can think of at the moment...

I can happily report that, for me at least, I have Touchdown very happily connected to my Hotmail account AND my corporate email account via separate profiles.

I just followed the basic settings as described at the top of this post and I was off and away.

I just used my @Live address for my login and, as instructed, left my Domain blank.

Did a factory reset, started over & everything worked immediately. I suppose trying HTC Mail & Touchdown had gummed up the works.

Having a free service that wirelessly syncs email, contacts & calendar is outstanding. What the mobile world's been waiting for, IMO.

I have set up my hotmail with EAS and its working just fine. I have the original droid (I couldn't fine this anywhere else so I'm posting here), and there is no option for HTML emails, everything comes through as plain text.

Is there a way around this with the stock droid email?

Thanks!

HTC Email has real difficulty with this in my experience. I downloaded the droid mail apk which worked fine but as mentioned aboveis not HTML. I used touchdown beta and had full activesync. I paid for the full version yesterday. Probably the only app I've paid more than $.99 for.

Well worth it. Exchange for Android is the version for Incredible.

Hi all. Some co-workers and I share a Hotmail calendar, and I'm sorting out how to access it from my device, short of going to the internet site and putting in the passwords every time. (I've never had a personal Hotmail account and don't use it for email or contacts.)

I read through this thread hoping to find an answer, but haven't quite. Since I only need the calendar, not the email or contacts, I'm wondering what's the best practice - set up the Hotmail account through EAS? or POP? Or is it worth getting an app? Thanks for any ideas or suggestions.
