Anyone have their re-boot or lockup?

About to buy the Sensation and the salesguy said to hold off and await the Galaxy S2 due to a bunch of Sensations rebooting or locking up for seemingly no reason. Anyone here experience this? Any fixes for it? I still wish to get the HTC but this reason is enough for me to choose the S2.

I've never had a problem even remotely close to this. It's never froze for me.

Well I have had it randomly restart Sense 3.0 but not the phone. It's happened maybe 3 times and over had it for almost 3 weeks. Not a big issue as long as you clear the RAM every now and then.

Is clearing the RAM a common thing with either the Sensation or Android phones in general? My Blackberry had horrid problems with RAM and am not looking to replace that issue......

I've had my Sensation 4G reset itself three or four times since I've owned it (a little less than a month). Not sure why it happens. The HTC screen does pop up on occasion to when it hangs.

I usually clear the RAM when I go to sleep or I know that I won't be using it for a while. If your someone who is into rooting their phone, if we get a unlocked bootloader and can get rid of Sense things will be a lot smoother.

i got my sensation the day it hit the t-mo stores. unfortunately, i have had an array of annoyances. i used to have a nexus one, and loved it, never lagged, was smooth, and this new phone thats supposed to be twice as great has been laggy, glitchy, and constantly when i hit home, it goes first to an all white screen with big green HTC in the center, then goes to a blank home screen qwith a "loading..." message bubble. this process usually takes 20-29 seconds and happens multiple times a day. its extremely frustrating. i have deleted almost half of the apps on my phone, most of which were on my 16g SD card anyway, and i have over 5g of available space. i dont know what to do. i cant find anything online and tech support at t-mo was less than helpful... can anyone throw me a bone on this? it would be greatly appreciated.

Bought the phone late afternoon yesterday and had one reboot this morning. About a 30 sec reboot delay.

If this happens only occasionally as others have said it won't be a problem. The phone is great (coming from MySlide 3G).

Very fast for itself and for it as a WiFi hot spot.

In Honolulu and getting 3-4 Mbps down where my 3G was 0.5-2.0 here.

I will know more tomorrow when I hit SCal, but for now I like it.

Bought one from Bell yesterday and it rebooted while getting the complimentary text from joining their network, that added up to around a dozen reboots yesterday. Most of the reboots on that phone happened during writing or receiving texts, and a battery pull didn't help. Took that one back this AM and it's replacement rebooted twice during the initial setup phase....one during bluetooth file transfer with my old phone and the second after initializing WIFI. That was it for me!

I had to return my first sensation as it had 17 abnormal resets during 5 hour period. It happened no matter what i was doing with the phone, just holding it it would abnormal reset.
Took the phone back the next morning an they declared it DOA replacing it with another. Day 2 and no issues at all.

Keep in mind task killers have some negative effects, too. Some issues could be due to over-use of the task manager.

I've had mine for a week now and have been playing with all of the features a LOT and have had a couple of instances of the white screen (Sense restarting?) and one abnormal shutdown. After reading the above post I deleted my third-party task killer and will see if that helps, but honestly a couple of restarts a week is nothing compared to how many times I see "Internet Explorer has stopped responding" on my laptop...

I have the same problem. Here is the scenario that causes my phone to lock up about 95% of the time: (all happening simultaneously)

1) Driving my car and using the "Maps" app for GPS
2) Connected to the phone via my Bluetooth headset
3) I launch a phone call using anyone of these short cuts: Speed Dial, Homescreen Contact shortcut.

Trying to use the "phone" is the only thing that locks my phone up... then I get the "loading" circle of death for about 1-3 minutes before the phone can work through the hang up or display the "HTC Sense has crashed" report.

If I lock the phone and then unlock using the power button, I can at least gain back control over the GPS using the pull down notifications bar... most of the time. I think that the hang is coming from the dual network connection of GPS triangulation, bluetooth connection, and now placing a phone call... I think this combination is locking up the processor, or locking up the media output until the phone can switch the phone output from the GPS over to the Bluetooth Audio settings. Especially, when you have two different volume settings for media output and a separate volume setting for bluetooth. This is just my experience with the problem and what I have noticed... I don't know if anyone else can expand on this...?
