Anyone in the UK got their Nexus One yet?

I had pretty much the same experience. Ordered on the 5th (with an engraving). Phone was shipped and arrived in Sheffield on Friday 8th. I wasn't in so picked it up on Saturday. No indication of any VAT charges so will wait and see what comes through if anything.

I went into network settings and then APN and set up two new APNs the first for 3G only...

Name o2

Leave all the other entries blank. Save that APN and create another called o2 mms:

I'm struggling with my settings. :confused: O2 prepay contract (not an iphone tarriff) and used the settings above and also tried these below with no luck. Have a 'G' but no 3G, and haven't managed to send an MMS yet. Any advice appreciated.

(The other thing which may be important is that while the Mobile Web APN has a green dot in a grey circle next to it, the MMS APN has neither dot nor circle).

stubzi when you say pre pay do you mean pay and go? or rolling contract?
the APN for pay and go is payandgo.o2.co.uk. If you have a contract that is on the normal wap use mobile.o2.co.uk as your apn. All other settings are correct. let me know if you have any problems and i will try to help.

As far as the O2 contracts are concerned. The O2 retentions dept are offering 1400 mins 2400 texts and free data through the mobile apn for

Im pretty sure from looking at your settings that the user name is vertigo not web..

Yes my user name is set to web. 3G working fine. Turned off wifi connection and can happily browse facebook and twitter apps.

But MMS still not sending. Settings are:

Thanks. Is there likely to be anything that is different about my 3G sim card that would affect my settings? Is it worth phoning O2 (think I know the answer to that)? Bemused that my MMS doesn't work, can't think where the issue might lie.

Update: kept settings as they were but tried different MMS files. Successfully sent small audio file. Then received a picture MMS. So now thinking that it is nothing to do with APN settings but that actually N1 is not automatically rescaling images.

Anyone know how to fix that?
 
Mine has just arrived! Interestingly (I don't think it's been mentioned) if you order the UK Charger Adapter you will receive a whole UK charger with none removable cable. So if you get a travel adapter you can have two chargers in different locations. The American charger also has a none removable cable and you get a seperate USB cable.

Off to play!

Order placed on the 6th. Received despatch confirmation on the 8th. My transaction was held up slightly though until I was notified that my bank had held a transaction to the USA (part of their fraud service...).
 
glad it seems to be making its way over here.

I ordered mine on the 6th but the credit card company didnt notify me until late into the 7th that they held the transaction, so it didnt get ordered "properly" until the 8th. The transactions now approved on the card but google have yet to take the cash according to the ccard company so Im sat in limbo at the moment.

Hopefully they'll process it today. I opted not to buy the charger and instead snagged a usb plug with the correct rating from ebay for a paltry

Mine says "Not Yet Shipped" still but I expect that won't change for a few days.
Was hoping that I'd be lucky and have had the phone on the weekend DHL flights but I don't know how quickly google can process and invoice DHL to collect. I ordered around 2000HRS GMT on Friday so might've been too late to get it through to DHL Air for the weekend.

I called my bank just an hour before I completed the order to notify them of my overseas payment that I was going to make. Everything went smooth for the payment, Google's got my money.

That's right it says Not yet shipped.
I checked the Nexus One Google forum and one Google Employee says that although you might see status not shipped yet but your bank has authorized the payment that means your N1 is on its way. ;)

Good good. My CC has been authorised but the money hasn't been taken yet. I don't know if that puts me in the same boat then?
If I see it before Friday I'll be a happy chappy.

Definitely before Friday, I'm actually expecting to see the DHL guy delivering my N1 on Wed... just hoping :D

Ordered mine on the 6th (with engraving) and it's out for delivery today... having it delivered to my folks (CC address) so won't be able to pick it up until Friday :( I'm very impressed with Google's speed in engraving/shipping, can't wait to play with this thing.
