Anyone in UK got 4.1.2 yet?

Just as the title says really. Seems crazy but my Motorola page early on in the week and despite being over a year older than my note 2, it is now running software newer than my practically brand new phone. Both on same network too.
 
Yes I have got the 4.1.2 update, not done through root, it was OTA. I have an unbranded BTU handset. Got the update about a month ago if memory serves. Have you tried clearing google framework services and then checking for the update? Menu>Application manager>Scroll across to all All>Scroll down to Google Services Framework>Clear Data then retry check for updates.

Just tried this but still no update. Oh well, I guess I'll stay in 4.1.1 :(

Thanks but according to an official blog, the only network to receive the update is vodafone so far. I'm t mobile.
 
I am with O2, tried your update method with no joy.
I cleared the data (about 5gb) tried it. Said up to date.
Then I saw the later post, cleared data and forced stop, data reappeared (192kb), so I cleared it and it restarted. Forced stop again, data reappeared.......
 
Strange how you don't have the update showing yet.


I have read that sometimes OTA upgrades don't always show up, but yet if you use KIES on the PC, it will always show the upgrade being available?

Try KIES perhaps?



For what it's worth, I've got a Tmob simcard in mine, and it's a UK simfree handset.
I was notified of the software upgrade(via wifi) whilst on holiday in Las Vegas, with my phone switched in airplane mode (ie simcard off)! So I'm not so sure that the simcard/network has any bearing on the software release dates at all....

I have had the update for around 1 month also and I always use Kies software to update my phones, never done it OTA.
Also Sim free phone.

Its basically a software for your pc that you can use to backup data etc... but I just use it to install updates when they are released. Just google Samsung Kies software. Some people have reported issues with drivers but I have had no problems.
 
There is another update for mine today. Got the update icon this morning but it won't update OTA for some reason. Will check with Kies later.

Ok, since trying this, all my game and Facebook notifications have stopped. They are all switched on in each app but for some reason they're not coming through. What have you made me do to my phone? Help please!

It's not just Facebook, it's also words with friends, battle with friends, scramble.

Actually, whilst I'm typing this I've realised that all of these games use my Facebook login! I'll give it a go and report back.
 
Well, I've got my Facebook notifications back but not my game notifications. Have already cleared the cache for each of my games. I am one unhappy bunny lol
 
Have now uninstalled and reinstalled all the problem games. Just waiting for someone to make a move now, lol. Well let you know how I get on. Thanks for your help.

I have done quite a bit of research on the clearing google framework thingy, and it would appear that doing so causes big problems for some, minor problems for others and no problems for the rest. I guess it just depends on what you have installed and the way you use your phone. Going back to the original question, have you got the update yet? Tried using Samsung Kies etc?

Lol, i think after this experience I might just wait until it appears. Never used kies in my life and heard so many issues with it that I'll just live with what I've got, despite it being older software lol
