Anyone install the new android market

nevermind......i just went into application manager and uninstalled my updates. Opened up market and closed it. Opened it up again and it was updated. U guys can try that and see if it'll work
Did this exactly and it worked for me

Luckily my AT&T Captivate hasn't got new Market because I purchased a Live Wallpaper last night and it started crashing today so I still had 24 hr refund window. I guess there no way to never get updated Market is there?

Well I guess my 24 hr. window is gone. I just started my Market and I got new version....

Im updating my now but idk if they update has to do anything with this because is a HTC update hopefully it is cuz my market doesnt look any different

I do like the new interface, it just seems more crisp, however I'm not happy about the trial period change.

So they are giving us 15 minutes to try an app. Lets think about this one. Lets say you are browsing apps, see one you want to try, and then start downloading it. But wait, (Insert tiniest distraction here) and you are needed elsewhere for ten minutes. Not unreasonable, right? Let's say the dog needs walking (NO, you are going to hold it in for 15 minutes!), or your parents called and said they are having problems with their computer (Yeah ma, I understand your computer is making funny noises and smoke's coming out the back, but I have to call you back after I play a game on my phone, otherwise I'll lose $3), or your kids need homework help (Not now kids, I'm playing with my phone and it's more important than your homework). Now, you'd better hurry and get whatever that may be done, otherwise you may be SOTL. And you know that the app you downloaded probably isn't worth it anyway, but figured since it's free to try, you may as well, until now, because now there is a slightly higher risk factor. Translation: Now people will be less inclined to try apps in the first place.

I have a feeling that the 15-min trial period will be extended. All we need is for the developers to start complaining that their downloads have decreased since the implementation. Or better yet, why not allow the developers to choose the refund period? Some apps simply cannot be tested in 15 minutes, especially those that require large downloads such as map applications and some larger games. If it took 20 minutes just to download 200MB of data for the application, the app is already bought before being able to test it. I believe developers should be allowed varying refund periods ranging from 15 minutes (For simple apps) to the old 24-hr limit (For more complex apps). This will keep both the consumer and the developer happier.

Actually in the case of my sideloaded market......it does get new updates. Maybe it depends on the app. Some may not update unless it's the official version. This is the only app that is not an official app on my phone so I can't comment on anything else.

Remember: if you manually sideload the apk for the new market app, you won't automatically get new updates to the market in the future.

This is the case for any sideloaded app. At least this is what I was told by an app author. The internal ID ends up being different, so it doesn't auto-update.

I kept trying the clear cache etc and it would never work. Sometime during the day Friday though it must have updated that night while waiting in the theater to see TRON I went in and sure enough I got the updated marketplace.

Another issue with the 15-min limit is that many big games require you to download a ton of extra data after installing them. This is due to app size limits (I think 50MB, raised from 30MB) for the Android Marketplace. so if a game has 100MB of extra data then you install an initial stub file of a few meg, then the 15-min clock starts but now you have to download another 100+MB which is going to cut into that before you even get a chance to start the game.

Complete and utter BS. Voice your complaints to Google though, not here. Venting here accomplishes absolutely nothing if you're hoping for change.

I read this somewhere earlier today and it worked on my unlocked AT&T currently used on the Rogers network.
Go to manage, manage applications, and select the market app. then hit the uninstall updates button. Wait about 5 minutes and then open and close the app a few times. It will automatically update after a few tries.

The biggest problem with the new app is that nowhere in the new app does it tell you that you only have 15 minutes now. I purchased an app this morning for 9.99. tried to return in about 30 minutes later because it did not meet my needs, but was denied a return. If you are going to change it from 24 hours to 15 minutes, you really have to notify the buyer! The only notification that I saw was hours later on the email they send you stating that they will bill in 15 minutes unless you return it. Most people would not be sitting in wait for the billing email. This whole thing is unfair to the unsuspecting buyer.
I dont have a problem with them changing the policy - you just have to let the buyer know before they buy something!
