Anyone Know What This Is?

I removed the cover and battery from my phone to do a visual inspection to find anything resembling what could be an antenna.
While looking at the back of the back to the left of the sd card, I noticed a strange "port" of some kind- looks like metal in there, non threaded, and has a contact or something.

It's driving me nuts just because I don't know what it is... Anyone have any idea?
Here's a pic, and don't hate on my pink fuzzie pants! lol

47 views and no one has a clue, eh?

Well the picture covers a lot of the phone and it is blurry. I am not sure what part of the phone you are referring to and even if I did I would not be able to see it clearly.

Can you get a better picture and some how identify specifically what part of the phone you are talking about.

She's talking about the brassy/gold points that contact the battery cover. Have no clue what they're for I just assumed it was a way to notify the phone that the battery plate was removed

This picture shows two but I believe there is one or two more that aren't shown

Edit: Never mind I just didn't read well enough it seems she's talking about one of the two circular holes on the bottom left of the picture. Don't know what it's for but it looks exactly like the plug for many internal wifi antennas

I don't know but if you are looking for an external antenna connection that would be found on the outside case of the phone directly below the battery cover. I know this because it matches the connector on my truck to the glass mount antenna I have from 1998. P.S. The little round cover for it is real fidgety. It is keyed so it only goes back on one direction.

Sorry about that. It's the hole above the case screw. There aren't any others back there as far as I remember-- It does resemble an antenna plug.....

If you are talking about the round hole to the left of the sd card and above the screw, it most likely a wireless antenna connection.

For example if you have a really weak 3G signal you could attach a tnc or mc cable to antenna that would give you a signal boost. I used to have one on an older phone, because it would not get very good reception while driving in the car.

Google "5db 3G mobile phone blade/clip antenna with MC-card connector".

Wilson Electronics sells a great deal of solutions that would allow you to use this connection.

Regards,

Has anyone tried that wireless antenna booster to see if it works on this phone?

I bought Amazon.com: Cell Ranger STIX 12V Cell Phone Booster: Electronics and have actually seen an improvement in my signal in my car. Places that I have known to drop with both the OV and Triumph I can get through much better now. Not saying it will fix for everyone but I drop a lot less calls and streaming now. BTW I bought it at the lower cost, not the full $89.

Oh see? I knew you guys/gals could help solve the mystery.

Awesome, thanks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
