Anyone know why my dvd rips (.mp4) don't have audio

Ok so I'm ripping my dvd's in .mp4 format to put on my phone. I've tried both 5.1 and 2.1 sound and I still can't get any audio. What format is everyone using?
 
I cant get MP4 movies to stream from Dropbox.
Is it my format or a Dropbox limitation?

Was able to do on an iphone.
