anyone order a d3?

just ordered my d3 today, and just curious who did the same?

upgraded from a d2, i dropped it and cracked the screen last week. pretty good timing i suppose. i'm looking to get my hands a little more dirty with this one as far as customizing/tweaking is concerned - hence just joining the forum.

i got my hands on a dummy unit at the store the other day and it felt really nice. very good size (big, but not too big), and very nice looking keyboard. i suppose we'll see for real tomorrow!
 
I ordered online and it is coming tomorrow. I am upgrading for an OG Droid that has a haywire screen issue.

I did Root and run a custom ROM on the OG Droid but not until after a year of using it stock. I will probably do the same for the Droid 3. Tweaking only after I get bored.
 
I think some of us forum dwellers are waiting on reviews and feedback first, due to the semi-disaster of the DX2 firmware.

Simple test for me:

1. No MP3audio pops
2. No low RAM issues that require root to semi-fix
3. No random (but consistent) reboots
4. Battery life
5. Run hot?
6. Radio reception
7. Call quality
8. Performance (does the bloat bog it down?)

We look forward to folks feedback today!
 
I got sick of all the issues with my Thunderbolt and ordered one yesterday. Should be at the house when I get home :) I'll use it for the weekend and put up some info on Monday

Just read that it requires a signature for delivery, and I'm at work and will probably miss delivery today.... crap. Maybe I could pick it up from somewhere tonight... I hope

If there is a neighbor nearby, they can get them to sign and hold it for you.

My FedEx just delivered. Going to set it up now.

My lady is home, I had her put a note on the door with my signature on it just in case.

I sure hope they do something like that. This could be a long wait for delivery, especially when I see all the first impressions and pics popping up - can't wait to hear what you think!

It requires an "indirect signature". If you follow the tracking number, there is a little question mark next to that "indirect signature" line. Mouse over the question mark and it explains who can sign.
 
so i missed delivery and have stuff going on tonight so i can't go pickup the package. another day of waiting for me... good things come to those who wait right?? now i just need to avoid kicking myself while i'm reading people's first impressions
 
I just ordered one through the verizon phone number.
I havent gotten a confirmation email yet.. and nothing shows i ordered it on my verizon account online.
The lady said I should get it monday. IM GOING INSANE!!
 
yeah this is real hard to sit and wait when i'm supposed to have had it today.... does fedex deliver on sat?
