Well of course HTC would say they are going to have an action plan when someone calls up to complain about something; you assume the person on the phone was actually someone who could make that change in production..a Customer Service rep answering the phone has no such authority or power
As far as catching this on the line, do you think that someone actually sits and examines every phone as it comes off the line??? You obviously have never been involved with the manufacturing of a consume electronic product.
So, how many unique individuals on this form have actually said they have this issue? 50? 100? 500?
Even if its a thousand, that is still a tiny tiny proportion of the total amount of phone sold. And, considering the fact that people only post on the internet when something is "wrong", that skews reality even more.
Not meaning to insult anyone, but, lets be honest; when some people read something over and over on the Internet, they can become obsessive with the issue, and, may even "imagine" or believe they too have the same problem when they really dont.
As I said, if they sold 300000 phones, and 9000 are ones with issues, that is still only 3%, and that is a totally acceptable number in the world of consumer electronics. I know that because I was involved as Director of Sales for a consumer electronics company, and 3% was always the number that we were ok with, even though, we always said we wanted ZERO defects..It just doesnt work that way in the real world
