Anyone Rockin their moto x without a case?

Have been without a case and screen protector since release.

Well, I do have a dodo sleeve for when I'm not using it.

For consideration ...

I had a Bionic and now a Maxx for two years total. Neither has a case or screen protector. I do have insurance. I work in an office and carry my phone in a pocket that never contains anything else.

I have clients and friends who work in the trades on step ladders and scaffolding. I recommend to them that they have both cases and screen protectors. It has saved the day a number of times when the phone was dropped from a height.

My point ... it depends on what you do.

Lol I've had just about every high end Android phone to date, however this is the only phone I just don't feel like putting in a case...Maybe I'll decide to throw my cruzerlite TPU on it at some point.
 
When I leave the house, its in a case. Especially when I travel. I always sell my phones to get another phone. So to get the best value for it, its worth it for me to keep it in a case. If I was never going to sell this thing, I would roll always naked though.
 
I have always used a case of some sort for my phones, but after trying 4-5 different cases, I've come to the conclusion that the Moto X was made to not be in a case. The back feels perfect, just enough tackiness to prevent slipping. Great feel that is wasted if in a case

This I agree with...this phone just feels like it was designed to be used just the way it comes out of the box...
 
I haven't used a case for a phone since my iPhone 3G, and even that was primarily because the thing was so slippery and had no hard edges that it practically jumped out of your hand. My iPhone 3GS, Droid X, Galaxy Nexus and now Moto X all run naked - knock on wood, but none of them have gotten damaged because of it.

I usually use a screen protector because I'm not really that worried about the body getting dinged up, but I have to look at the screen all the time so I'm going to see scratches if they occur. Even that I wonder if I really need since I'm pretty careful and glass is pretty hard stuff, but I'd rather not find out the hard way.
 
I don't use a case for normal use (to/from work) but I keep a case around for active use (such as on my bike mount) or if I know I'll be mixing drinks with snapping pics! ��

I'm leaning towards the Moto X Air Jacket, assuming I successfully take advantage of the Cyber Monday offer!

That's completely dependent on if you drop the phone or not. And/or how careful you are with the devices.

If you have a problem with dropping phones in the past and don't WANT to get it all messed up...good chance you should probably buy a case. If you like going naked, don't care if you drop it and hold the thing likes its a living baby...good chance you will be fine without a case.

I just don't understand how we can sit here and justify that just because YOU go naked, it means that other people don't need a case.

I only see one person in this thread who has question others' use of cases, and even that wasn't clearly targeted at damage - he said " don't understand why so many people do use them." Which could be referring to looks, or thickness, or anything really.

I don't think anyone here is questioning physics. We're all pretty clear on the fact that not using a case and not dropping your phone onto concrete need to go hand-in-hand for an undamaged phone - really, that's the point, I think.

I don't use a case on my phone and my phone is fine [because typically I don't drop my phones].

Far more often, I see this logic applied to screens. "I don't use a screen protector and my screen is okay, so this screen must be resistant to any and all scratches." That drives me batty, so I hear ya' on this.
 
Personally I hate cases, and I don't think insurance is worth it. The only phone I has problems with is my Galaxy nexus since it was slippery and the finish doesn't hold up well. The flat black moto x has a similar finish to my older HTC phones, so I think it will do better.

I do always use a screen protector, and I'll probably get a case for working on the car or fishing.

I dropped by Nexus S 4G onto a hard surface probably 15 times. And I'm talking phone sitting on my lap, get out of car not realizing phone is on my lap and smashes right on the street. Dropped it other times on a hard surface floor in doors. Finally after 2 years I dropped it glass side down on a tile floor and the bottom of the screen cracked. Used it for another 5 months before I got the Moto X.

I've found phones and the Gorilla glass to be very strong. I could care less if the edges get beat up. It makes no sense to me why people want to increase the size of their phone significantly with a case because they don't want it to get scratched and dinged up. I'm just surprised that it seems like I'm in the minority, cuz tons of people do have cases. Looks ridiculous to me and I love a low profile phone. Will never use a case ever.

I have a very low profile case. Its good. But I can see your point with like otter boxes, its terrible. Also, lots of iphones use cases, beacuse if you drop that thing, some people may not get a smartphone for a very long time. So the idea of breaking your smart phone and not being able to get another, would be a good reason to use some kind of case.

When I sold my Galaxy s3 for 375 on Ebay a month or two ago, I was very satisfied with the way I kept it.
 
Mine is currently naked with the factory applied screen protector still on :P
That being said even though I have insurance on it I'd really like to get a case because my phones usually end up taking a spill at some point.
 
Best fitting cases I've found is the Cruzerlite TPU cases and Diztronic as far as slim goes.

My only gripe is I've been using that dimple on the back of the phone which I've gotten used to and love, and when the case is on its covered up. There's some cases out there with the cut out but its just not the same.

Hey its a catch 22, some will use one, some will not. My phone is all white so finger prints are not an issue, however its winter here in NY so putting this phone in a jeans pocket will lead to a lil bit of blue getting onto some of the white areas of the phone, and dropping it will lead to well, a pretty bad day in all seriousness if ones in a rush pulling their phone out.

Its all preference I guess, my iPhone is in a slim TPU case so we'll see the next few days how I fare with my X and if I decide to use one of these cases I have. For now my X is catching a cold with nothing on because of this weather out here...lol.
 
It's kind of like a car bra, you're keeping it from getting a scratch by making it look bad. And like a car bra some cases can actually cause scratching because the sand gets in the case.

It would be great if they made a neo hybrid case for the Moto X, they are the thinnest best feeling case I've used.
 
I also just got the Cruzerlite TPU case. It's very thin and adds almost not bulk. It does have the lip that surrounds the screen which I wanted so when I place the phone screen down it gets some protection.
I also use the Verizon screen protector which has a great fit.
It's my opinion that covering the case and screen makes sense.
 
Replace the word case with condom.

If you don't mind the risk and prefer the feel... go without. Many have had success in dodging the "oops".

If you have a riskier workplace and just don't want to have to visit the screen doc, then slap on a case.

Me? I have two kids already... so I use an Otterbox.

I have never believed in using a case until recently. I dropped my moto x on the cement in a parking lot and shattered the glass. I had to buy another at full price. I'll be using a case this time!
