Anyone tethering?

Is there an app that will let you tether without being detected by ma bell? I used to have a jailbroken iphone and used an app but still got detected once and did not want to press my luck since I'm on an unlimited plan.

My understanding is we are allowed to tether now as we have limited data plans (I'm on Verizon). You paid for xxx gig of data...use it how you want.

That's what I was told at the V store.

That being said, I use PDAnet because I always have and I hate change. It has a check box for "hide usage" but I don't select it now.

Yeppers that is true on verizon (I'm on verizon and tether all the time) but this does not apply to at&t and is a primary reason I will not switch to at&t.

You do realize the FCC made Verizon do that right? If it wasn't for them, it wouldn't be free.

The FCC's ruling should apply to ATT as well.

AT&T is the same as Verizon. If you are on the new data shared plan (like Verizon's), tethering is free. It is not free (on both AT&T and Verizon) if you grandfathered and stayed on the old unlimited data plan.

Answering my own post.

I tried a bunch of apps without rooting with no luck . Then after rooting went back and tried FoxFi again and it works like a charm.

I've been told Foxfi is good. Of course, I'm terrified of getting caught by Verizon, but, I dont have a tablet at the moment, so I guess its currently redundant.
