Root Anyone think the EVO will get Gingerbread?

Sprint has mostly been on top of getting their devices updated, with the exception of the Epic 4G getting pushed back. But I'm curious if anyone has heard or read if our beloved Evo will be getting Gingerbread?

I'm sure it will. It's HTC's top phone on Sprint. They have no reason to abandon it now.

i went in to best buy and was trying to find some info on the htc hd incredible. i showed the lady i already have 2.3 on my incredible now and she said wow, i thought i was the only one. she then showed me here evo which recieved an update yesterday she told me that gave her 2.3 she let me see here phone and sure enough, it was there.

I GUARANTEE the evo will get it. Probably within the next month or two at most.

that update was NOT 2.3. Just a regular update for 2.2. If she has 2.3, she is rooted and installed a 2.3 rom.

the she pulled a fast one on me because it indeed did have firmware version 2.3 on it. maybe she just didnt tell the whole truth since she told me it was a update.
