For me it's about the look, not the specs. I would have to actually be holding both of them side by side, and compare them on a screen by screen basis. I can't say it really bothers me, only because most people (I said most, not all lol) don't by their phone because of the resolution alone. :)

I have a Dinc and my son has an Itouch 4th gen I have a 2nd Gen and yes the 4gen is way better then the 2nd gen screen the 4 gen looks great, but my Dinc screen isn't far off, and i am betting the T-bolt screen looks a little better then the Dinc screen.

Not particularly....DNLA to the tv

I keep asking this ... what content is on your phone that you want to show on the TV? I'm not meaning to pick on you specifically, but I keep hearing about people wanting to connect their phones to their TVs and I can't get anyone to give me a realistic usage scenario yet.

I agree. Looking at specs on "paper" doesn't make a difference to me. When I had my Droid X, I thought the screen was great. When I got the INC and compared it, the INC blew it out of the water.

You might want to toss up some cool vid you made in 720 P of your kids for the wife. In fact the thing shoots in 720p so really nearly anything. Hey some of you might even make some down and dirty handy cam pics with your fav lady and want to view that later on the TV.

i have an app, jetflicks, that has a ton of half hour and hour tv series on it. Everything from ABC to Showtime. I dont have showtime on my cable at home, but i can watch Dexter on jetflicks.

I do like better res but in this case I can leave with. If Verizon would announce two phones this month one being TBolt and the other with high res, i would really consider it. I am not willing to wait until June for high res though.

I'm pretty confident at this point that most people looking forward to the Thunderbolt are just hardcore HTC fans(not that that's a bad thing, HTC is awesome). I don't think there's a single person that doesn't wish the Thunderbolt had the Bionic's specs as long as it was still made by HTC.

^Except for the Bionic's 512MB RAM (Well we don't know how DDR2 will perform) or the Bionic's FFC (although not a deal-killer), and the ever-so awesome Kickstand, lol

1. You're going to need a phone with HDMI out to display that. I'm 99.9% sure you can't use DLNA in this case. DLNA will only transfer files, not do screen scrapes.

2. I'm not exactly sure that service is legal. I can tell you that I can't find records of HBO licensing out content to this company. That's not to say it's not legit, but that combined with the lack of information on their website would definitely give me pause.

3. Netflix is cheaper. If your TV has an internet connection for DLNA, chances are it has widgets, including Netflix. All this content I see on Jetflicks is available on Netflix. Netflix will be coming to your TB as well.

I have netflix too! But jetflicks has the sitcoms, and updates daily the shows from last night

I would definitely get the Droid Bionic if it was made by HTC. I use to love Motorola but I will not buy a phone from them again if the bootloader is locked. So that is why I am not even considering it at this point until someone says if it is unlocked. Which I doubt.

While a lot of the specs on the Bionic are better then the Thunderbolt to me the Thunderbolt seems like a phone that will be more pleseant to use everyday and has some very minor features and look that make it more attractive to me. The only feature it's lacking is HDMI I know it has DLNA but I'm still not sure how that all works

Motorola did say a few weeks ago that one of their upcoming devices would be unlocked. It's possible the Droid 2, X2, or Bionic will be unlocked. It's also possible(likely) they were just talking about the Xoom which is unlocked.

That said, the locked bootloader has at worst merely delayed the launch of good roms, it didn't stop them. The Liberty rom on the Droid X is amazing and lets you do just about anything you could want to do on an unlocked phone.

The thing that would stop me from buying a Thunderbolt more than anything else is the potential battery life. HTC phones are notorious for less than stellar battery life. My Droid X lasts waaaaaay longer than my Incredible did. It lasts so long that battery life isn't something I ever think about anymore. It was always on the mind when I had the Incredible.

No offense but you are completely wrong on that. You can not do almost the same as lets say a phone that is unlocked. The Droid X has roms, but they are based on blur, even if it is removed it is still based on blur. Currently there are no true AOSP roms.

You cannot use custom kernels, which I think is a bigger deal. This is fine for most people I am sure, Droid X is still great. Majority of people don't care about this, but I do and so do a lot of developers.

@dguy but what if that dual core processor eats batteries for breakfast especially when combined with 4g? I mean we just don't know yet.

I'm aware that you can't use custom kernels. Just saying I'm wrong because the Droid X can't use custom kernels doesn't make sense at all. Explain in detail why having a custom kernel is so useful. What exactly can you do with that that isn't done in Liberty or Apex? The list you come up with will not be long and most of the things will not be important to the vast majority of users. There's plenty of people that would have no problem arguing that Liberty is on a similar level to Cyanogen.

The Atrix is already out so we have a pretty good idea on Tegra 2 battery life. Time will tell to be sure, but conservative guesstimates shouldn't be too far off.

For one I didn't say you were wrong because of custom kernels, I said you were wrong because the X cannot do everything the Incredible can with custom roms and kernels.

The liberty rom if I am not mistaken is still based on blur, not aosp. Also it would be a lot harder to get a gingerbread build without Motorola leaking or releasing one for your phone. Custom kernels are great, you can overclock your phone(i know you guys can do that though), you can undervolt your battery to save a ton on battery life.

I'm not trying to say anything bad about the Droid X, I said earlier it is a great phone. But there are reasons why Devs dont like it, and that is because of the locked bootloader.

I already stated earlier that most wouldn't care about these things, but I said I did, so if it is fine with you then don't worry about it. It is something I am not fine with, so I would need to know before getting the Bionic if it was locked down or not.

800x480 + HTC Sense + root access > qHD + MotoBlur + locked bootloader

In real world use situations, I doubt if anyone will notice the Bionic has a few more pixels than the Thunderbolt (not even sure if there's any apps out there that are optimized for qHD). However, the difference between Sense and MotoBlur will slap you in the face! lulz
