Root Anyone using Spotify? What ROM will it work with?

Hi all,

First things first, apologies if this is the wrong forum but, I'm new here

The short of this is I want to know if anyone is using a ROM on which Spotify works fine?

The longer version is:

Cheated my way into the rooting world, purchased a Hero from eBay and currently I'm running FroydVillain 1.3.1 , I also just discovered the phone has "ClockworkMod Recovery v2.01.3 I guess this is what I use to load on a new ROM?

I don't know if this is a factor in my problems but I have a Kingston Micro SD HC 8GB card.

My number one application by far is Spotify, I use my phone more for this than for calls, txts, anything. It's just not working with this ROM. It keeps crashing, when I download music to be available off line it keeps not being able to find it on the SD card. It also keeps saying the memory is nearly full even though it's used less than 5% of the memory card.

Truth be told I want my Desire back, but its gone now so I have to make do with the hero for now, all I want is Spotify to work.

Can anyone help?

Spotify doesn't actually d/l songs to your phone just streams them unless you add them to your library on the computer first, otherwise you must sync over 3g to get the songs to play, look under settings in menu.

Im having the exact same problem. I installed Darky's Rom and 10.2.2 and the only problem so far is Spotify. It keeps asking me if I wanna roam, it keeps crashing and it doesnt wanna sync local files from computer. Everything was fine before installing a custom rom.

This is incorrect. Spotify does have an "offline mode" which allows you to play music on a playlist when the phone is not connected to the internet. It works well on subways, other countries where neither phone or internet access is available, and on airplanes without internet access. The music is definitely stored on the device, though not in an identifiably standardized format (e.g. MP3, flac, etc.).
