Anyone using the new Yahoo Mail App

I agree with Firedesire- my yahoo mail app works fine, but I do not want alerts. I want the icon, but I don't want it to vibrate/ring. When I sleep I've been setting the phone to silent (learned the hard way that I get a lot of emails during the night), but even during the day I do not want to get alerted every time I get an email. Is there a way to turn off vibrating/ringing alerts just for email?
You can turn off the notification sounds under menu and options.

Installed it a couple of weeks ago, but got rid of it after a week or so as the HTC mail app does eveything a need.

DO I need to install Yahoo and Hotmail apps if I use he default mail app?
If I set the updates on yahoo and hot to never will that save any battery waste? I like the gui for hotmail and yahoo over the the default mail app

Had to look into this thread to see if it was for real. My friends and I were arguing about whether anyone savvy enough to own an android device was still using Yahoo mail.

Seriously guys. I mean come on.

Sadly I'm stuck with Yahoo as I'm self employed & my yahoo email address is on all my business cards.

However I've used the normal mail app, for a year now and only once has it been an issue when it stopped working. Used the Yahoo mail app for a while then went back.

So the choice is your's, give them both a try & see which suits you best.

Here are the setting you need for stock mail app.

BTW widehead is this what you & you're mates argue about? Really?

Exactly. All those stupid people making their own minds up and using the mail client that they feel is best for them for a wide variety of valid reasons. Whatever is the world coming to?

Although I have a gmail account (obviously) I'm probably the only person in the world who just hates the way gmail handles mail.

My Fiance uses Yahoo. I have tried to get her to migrate to Gmail but she wont make the leap.

She is familiar with the web interface and tahts fair enough.

Got to say, Yahoo is not really behind any of the other webmail solutions anymore (except google). I'd prefer it to hotmail.

I've been using the Yahoo mail app successfully since I've had my phone. The latest update has made it snappier.

I've had no problems with it pushing my mail automatically. A task killer will stop it from working unless the app's on the ignore list.

If someone has found how to locate unread mail without having to scroll, if it's at all possible, I would be really grateful!

Cheers!
