Anyones Power Button begin to Recess yet?

Yes that's the question, has anyone noticed they're power button beginning to sink in yet, and become flush with the device?

Mine just started to. I was getting worried but I have nolock so I can use the volume buttons to turn on the phone but it would be nice to be sure the poewr button doesn't get completely sunk in to the phone where I can't even press it at all.

I noticed mine doing this as well, but I thought it was just my imagination or that I was being paranoid. Kind of lame.

Deff not your imagination! I just don't get HTC, and how they cheap out on certain things. That's just one thing that has to stand the test of time, not sink into the phone after one week. The one thing Apple does right is place Superb Build Quality into all its devices.

I have a case that covers the power button, and its also slightly more raised than the phone itself so the power button seems to be a non issue for me.

Mine has done this...almost to the point where it is hard to press. This is my second TB. The first one didn't have this problem.

I might try to exchange mine as well. I'm gonna hold off for a couple more weeks to see if it gets better, but right now mine is pretty bad. :(

After two weeks of use my power button stayed recessed and wouldn't function. I had to hold the phone upside down and tap the phone on a hard surface to dislodge it, then depress it to wake the phone. Became a major PITA. Every time I wanted to use the phone I had to bang it on a hard surface, it was just a matter of time before I broke the phone entirely. Verizon replaced it in the store.
The replacement phone is new but the power button is not extremely elevated at all, so I'm wondering if I'm going to experience the same issue over again in a matter of days.
I am using Widgetlocker for my lockscreen. Is there a way to use the phone and minimize or eliminate use of the power button to turn it off and wake from sleep? I have read about the Nolock app but I like Widgetlocker and would like to continue using it if possible. Currently I press the power button to sleep the phone before I put it in my pocket and press it again to wake from sleep. I am having an issue with Widgetlocker where it will timeout, reappear, then timeout again, so rather than have the screen on for an additional 30 seconds before full timeout, I will just hit the power button to sleep.

When I still had mine it recessed within the first few days. I didn't even know about the issue til I looked it up. Pretty cheap...my droid x didn't have that issue til it was at least 5 months old. iPhone is still solid.

You have to give it to Apple they have wonderful switch gear on the IPhone4. Nothing cheap or flimsy about it.

Mine is fine. It's always been kinda hard to push though. Minor annoyance.

I got a cheap TPO case with an argyle pattern on e-bay for $4.75 - its a great case, better than the $20 version Verizon sells. Plus it actually makes it much easier to press the power button.

the top power button is nothing new for HTC, the Evo's is in the exact so I wonder if they have trouble. Mine is reccessed but works (I thought it was that way to prevent accidental switching lol). I have a soft cover which makes it pretty much a non issue since they have an extension where the button is thats sticks down. Works without issue with the case.

You can use No-Lock + Widgetlocker, in case anyone is wondering! I also use Easy-Off, where I have to longpress my search bar to turn the screen off. Worth it.

I've had my Thunderbolt for just over two weeks, now, and I don't *think* mine is recessing in (yet?), but seeing topics like this constantly makes me paranoid about it. I use the No Lock app so I can wake the phone up with the volume buttons, but I still constantly worry my power button will eventually sink in.

If it happens, is there any way to fix it? I'm just worried it'll eventually happen, and I'll no longer be able to power my phone on or off. Then what? My 14 day return period is already over, and I didn't buy any extra protection plans with the phone. So would I be stuck with what'd essentially be a paper weight, for the next two years?

I notice that, when you pop off the back cover, you can see more of the power button. Is there no way to fix it that way?

Eh, I dunno, hopefully it's not something I'll actually have to deal with, but my paranoia over the issue will force me to keep an eye on topics like this, "just in case".

I am sure there is a tweek you can do you push it back up. I heard it stops being effective though.

You will probably need a warranty replacement once it recesses so much that it won't work.

Mine did this. I called VZ yesterday and today when I get to work, my warranty replacement will be waiting for me. (I work for FedEx Freight, so I got free overnight shipping)

How do you use widgetlocker and No-Lock in conjunction with each other? Also, Easy-off can turn the phone off, but don't you need to use the power button to turn it back on?

It's a common HTC problem...do a search on the TB, and the EVO and you'll see your not the only one out there with this issue.
