Root AOKP Running on Evo Design

Tonight I was able to get AOKP running on my Design 4G. There is considerable lag and had to tweak the build prop file just to get the launcher to load. Still looking into it. Working on getting the phone and ata going first.

I was able to boot the EVO Shift AOKP ROM by modifying the build prop and replacing the boot.img with the stock EVO Design image...

More to come

Phone, Data and SMS are all working as of right now

Got it to boot on my Evo Design too! Reboots when you try to go to settings. Launcher loaded and data works too.

I should resize these, but um o well :)

Update: AOKP is running stable after making some adjustments....

What I was able to boot was the AOKP 6.3 (4.0.4) from the Evo Shift with the following changes:
-Replaced the boot.img with the original from the Boost Design.
-Copied using add and replace the contents of the system lib, etc, and some framework files....not real sure at this point....long day.
- needless to say there is some fat to be trimmed back out after I get everything working....Current zip file size is 192 mb
-To fix System UI force closing at start up I had to mod all the graphics related items in buildprop and there are no more force closes and no lag.
-Nenamark2 scores are around 20 vs the 25 of the stock set up so more tweaking is still needed
- Working 3g, phone and messaging
-No GPS, BT or Wi-fi

Willing to help if you need it. :)

Honestly I'm just learning as I go. Just got tired of hearing how much alike the
Shift and Design were and after seeing they have the same partition map and slightly different Kernels I just gave it a shot.

They are different, just because a device has the same partition map doesn't mean a thing. As for testing that is how far I got in a few hours, I just need to merge all the changes into my device folder now. But it is somewhat stable, but still some things don't work.

AOKP ? Ported ? If not how did you pull that off without the source code ? I'd love to take crack at AOKP !! Tried a few times but I never got a bootable port.

also if you could get me a copy of your nandroid backup i would be more than happy to see if i could give a hand in this :). i may not be the best but i feel as if i could help get a few things worked out for you, :). just messsage me a download link or post it on here.

I booted a different ics rom. Wifi, mms, camera and other things not working. But other than that very snappy fast.

You are never going to get stuff working fully with out building from source code. How ever I will be nice and give a taste http://2fastroms.com/development/2f...uZiiOnZz/cm-9-20120808-UNOFFICIAL-kingdom.zip

Do not report issues or ask for when something will be fixed. It will be fixed when I get time to fix it. You are welcome to post a what doesn't and what does work if you like to.
What works is:
No fc's
Full ril (Phone, sms, mms) Roaming is unchecked
Wifi
Sound
Mic should work
Then not sure what else off my head.
