Root AOSP contact widget, low res pics etc

Been trying to figure this out forever, hoping someone has an answer.
All the pics on AOSP for contact widgets or even when the pic pops up when calling is super low res, is here anyway to get the contact widgets or the call screen to show hi res pics on AOSP? Thanks!
 
I was talking about pics from the sd card Actually, There's a workaround in sense roms by linking a "phone " contact to your google contact, but I can't find a work around for aosp
