Root AOSP rom, possible to have both Pattern Lock AND Slide Lock screens?

I am running CM 6.1 stable for htc Inc., but this seems to happen on any AOSP custom rom.

When I setup a pattern lock for my phone, the slide lock screen disappears. Is there a way to keep both?

From searching, it seems like a lot people actually prefer to have only the pattern lock so they can skip the extra step of the slide lock. But I like the look of the slide lock screen and I like the slide that silences the phone. Looks better than the 9 dots. I'm not always going to unlock my phone when I press the power button, sometimes I'm just looking for the time and date.

Anyway.....

Thanks in advance.

This should be an option in CM6.1 - in the CyanogenMod Settings menu... I don't remember exactly how to get there right now (on Athena 1.2 right now) but it should be something like Lockscreen Settings, and if you enable Trackball wake and Trackball unlock then you can have the option to have it go straight to the pattern lock - the default should be how you want it, but I know when I set this, it stayed set even when I unchecked the options - I think I reflashed the ROM to fix something else and it fixed this too (I don't remember the details, it was like two days ago ;)).

Thanks wildland.

I guess my phone is some strange exception. My default when I add a pattern lock is that the Slide Lock disappears. Happens to me with any AOSP rom I've tried. Very Strange.

I understand now why there weren't any replies to this thread.

Unfortunately the setting (under Cyanogen settings) doesn't work for me. I've checked and unchecked the box a few times, but nada.

Thanks for at least replying and trying to help.

First a disclaimer: I'm a total noob at modding android (roms/kernels, etc), so I don't really know the ins and outs of this stuff - just googling a lot and trial and error, so with that in mind...

As I said before, I had that happening on my CM6.1stable install, and some other issues as well - I think what happened is I played a little too fast and loose with Titanium Backup restoring backed up settings and borked something, I think clearing my settings as described in this thread fixed this issue (I also had sound issues), I'm not clear though, I may have had to do a complete reinstall of CM6.1, wiping all caches etc., either way my lock screen came back after that and the menu options worked after that - if you've had this issue across multiple clean installations of roms without and sort of questionable restoration of settings - well then I'm at a loss... Sorry I can't be of more help.

It's weird I have installed AOSP roms where I wiped everything: System Cache, factory reset, dalvik cache. Am I missing anything? Battery stats? that shouldn't matter, should it?

I'll try a clean reinstall of cm 6.1 stable without restoring settings using titanium backup.
