Root AOSP roms

From doing a little searching I think I may be unrooting and sending this thing back. I really liked AOSP roms like Liquid. I am annoyed that I see no way of being able to use the sixaxis tool without a non HTC bluetooth. Am I missing something here?

If it's a desensed rom, its still has HTC bluetooth protocol right?

i have no idea what the bluetooth tool youre refering to is.

however, there is no functional AOSP RIL currently,so all working,DDable roms are using htc framework, and id assume, htc BT protocol. some desensed roms may be so stripped, that some htc functionality is lost.

i use a platronics voyager hd,witch connects to phone and media audio. if you care to link what youre trying to use/acomplish i can check it out and see if it works for me

I was speaking of the PS3 controller pairing tool. It doesn't work on Sense roms. I used it on My Thunderbolt, I had a liquid rom.

Mainly I am annoyed when I saw all the AOSP roms in the GNEX forums. I found a controller that looks like a PS3 that said to work with HTC. I really hate sense anymore.

Who knows if I can even send this thing back now if I unroot, and whether or not I can keep unlimited if I change phones.

well, the galaxy nexus is googles proprietary device, and comes stock with AOSP,so it does stand to reason that the gnex roms are all based on AOSP ;)

as for changing phones, keeping unlimited data, etc. those would be questions for vzw. i would ask them rather than continue to be unhappy with the phone that you have... sounds like the galaxy nexus may be more your cup of tea.

if they agree to let you exchange the phone, you can easily remove traces of having rooted by doing the s-off procedure, wich will change youre unlocked back to locked just like it came.(relocking via fastboot will only give you relocked)
once youre s-off and locked all you need to do is follow the directions in the guide, and run the GB ruu, then enter a fastboot command to turn s on.

you can then exchange it without any visual traces that it had been modified at one point :)

sorry to hear your having a bad expiernece with the rezound. im not a fan of sense either, but i love htc hardware, and am personally very happy with the rezound despite its lack of real AOSP

Thanks, I will call them this weekend and see. Overall I like the phone, especially for 80 bucks! An I also like HTC, I stayed away from samsung in the first place because everything I ever owned with sammy on it stunk, same with moto.

i had an OG droid that i liked allright, but im not a moto fan at all... espeically with everything else and their locked bootloaders.

i had a gnex that i wanted desperately to love,as much as i like google and android, since it is googles proprietary phones.

i just could not warm up to it,and ended up trading it for an s-off dev rezound(and then a week later the s-off method was released )
