Root ApeX Media Issue w/ Wrong Kernel

drewjewbe

Lurker
I just installed ApeX 1.3.1 and I have the media bug where no audio files will play. I see on the FabDroid Wiki that I'm not running the correct Kernel. My about phone section says:

System Version: 2.3.340.MB810.Verizon.en.US
Android Version: 2.2.1
Baseband Version: BP_C_01.09.07P
Kernel Version: 2.6.32.9-ga42712e

My question is how to I go about updating the Kernel? I understand the basics behind SBF and rooting, etc., but what I don't understand is all of the terminology. Your help is very much appreciated!

Had the same type of problem when I would switch between ROMs, I fixed mine by upgrading the SBF file again.(.34 that is)

Sbf doesn't update radio image and bootloader. With link binary vision posted you updating your phone to latest OTA

Just wanted to thank everyone for their help! I applied the TBH patch to update the kernel but ended up stuck in the boot loader. Had to SBF back to stock then did the OTA upgrade (which updated the kernel) and reinstalled ApeX. Everything works perfect now and lovin Apex!

I didn't see "... made a backup in recovery, then installed ApeX..." anywhere in your post.

You'll want that to get the next OTA.
