Root APEX to Gingerbread OTA

jpy

Lurker
OK, so I've searched and am still not clear with regards to updating from APEX to the Gingerbread OTA leak.

Should I SBF? or what should I do?

I am a little nervous with SBFing but think I can handle it.

I did back up my stock setup after I rooted, can I reinstall that through ROM manager?

Would really like a step by step.

This is a great site and really has helped me through the whole Android Addiction, great support group!

Thanks in advance.

There is no Ota. It was a mistake. It is another build of GB. It is not out yet, rooted. I suggest going to the Gingerbread leak if you want to go over to GB. I am using GB with RubiX GB. It's amazing. I'm very happy. If that's what you want to do, go back to stock, root it with z4, then flash GB, and if you want, you can flash RubiX over that. :)

Ask more questions if you have any.

Steven. :)

First off TS I suggest you do some more reading as there is no SBF involved to go from apex on 2.3.340 to the leaked GB build. The only time you need to SBF is if you want to go from GB back to froyo in this case. Also if you were on one leaked GB version and wanted to go to the other you would have to SBF back to .340 then re install the GB version you want.

I suggest going with the one steven mentioned (blurry bread). Its based off the first GB leak, but it runs absolutely awesome. Personally I could care less about any other version of Gb because for me this one is perfect, and don't plan on changing anything unless a really spiffed GB rom comes out of something. Otherwise its not worth the hassle.

Thanks for the info guys!

I guess I should have clarified by saying the "latest GB build" rather than the "OTA" version.

I have found this site very very helpful and it wouldn't be without the courteous support of experts like you guys!

I an technically savvy but have limited time to scour the blogs looking for an answer to the specific situation as I have presented. I enjoy reading the posts and always learn something when I do. Sometimes a search brings up the answer to my exact topic but then sometimes it doesn't, it brings up another interesting point and then as you all know......3 hours later I remember what I was actually looking for in the first place...lol.

Thanks again, for everyones help!!!

Peace!
