Root Apk Manager Error's

It doesn't seem to work for me I'll try again after I get off work, So you put the files into the zip then decompile, or decompile then put in files & recompile. Every time I put the XML's & the PNG's into the zip before I decompile & the battery charging PNG's are gone & the XML's have 0 bytes ?

It doesn't sound like you're doing it right. Read my post here:

http://androidforums.com/triumph-all-things-root/416573-tip-froyo-how-change-carrier-name.html

In the guide, I walk you through decompiling and recompiling framework-res.apk using APK Manager. You can ignore the middle parts about the changing the carrier name. Steps 1 and 5 will apply to you. Obviously, in between there, you'll need to copy the png files and xml files into the appropriate folders.

Edit: So to make it more clear:
--Do step 1
--copy pngs and xmls files into the appropriate folders that are created in the project folder.
--do step 5.

Is it because my stupid ass didn't delete the resource.arsc file before the recompiling ? I was reading that guide & it says I should delete that, yes ? No ?

you should only have to delete it if you edited any of the .xmls. if you just edited .pngs then you shouldn't have to.

Yes you do. You're replacing xml files. Also, don't forget to delete the 2 XML files that you changed from the keep folder.

Quick question does Apk Manager work better on Windows 7 or Ubuntu? I've never been able to compile a framework-res.apk from the Triumph I have however been successful with the Optimus Slider

APk manager 4.9 is outdated and can't handle the newer API levels in gb and especially in ics that well anymore unless you manually update the tools in it. Otherwise, it's easier to just switch to apk multitool.

Finally got it to work. I just wanna say you guys are awesome Mantera, Marc12868, MobsterGunz, & Agent13, Thanks for helping me through some serious operator failure lol, But thanks guys you're the best. :D

Glad to hear that you got it working. It's good to know how to do it if you're going to be theming a lot which it looks like you are.

Ya thanks again Mantera my wife is happy about the 1% battery. Would like to try porting some roms but I'm still learning, I'm less than a year deep into android.
