Help APKs on SD Card

Hi all

I have quite a lot of APK files on my SD card.

I would like to know if it is possible to delete them and then if and when I decide to change ROMS, backup all APPS and DATA via Titanium? And then when I have installed the new ROM, can I restore using said app.

So basically, does titanium need the original APK's to allow the apps to be restored?

The reason I want to delete them is to make room for more music on my phone :)

Alright again Wiggo!

I tend to delete the apk as soon as I've installed an app... don't think it should matter - never had a problem myself! :)
 
Aren't the apk's what Titanium uses to install the apps again when you restore? You could delete them, link to your gmail account and they would download from the market then restore the data, but it's probably quicker letting titanium doing all the work for you.

If you don't want them on the card, there's a function in titanium which allows you to upload them to your dropbox account.

How do I link them to my Gmail account please mate?

O and by the way, I'm well and truly spoken for. Its me and my DHD :)

It will send them to a dropbox account, it's like an online storage facility. If you want one, click http://db.tt/I8Z5nZY (that's my referral link and it gets us both an extra 250MB storage) and set your account up from there. Then download the app from the market.

Once you've backed up, there will be an option in Titanium to Sync to dropbox. Hit the button, put in your dropbox info and away yo go.

However, the dropbox sync may only work in the paid for version of Titanium unfortunately.
