Help APN Issues after the 4.3 update

Apologies if this is a little vague, but I'm asking on behalf of a mate who gave me the details via SMS.

He's just has the 4.3 update, using an unbranded handset on the Orange network.

Apparently, every time he connects to any Wi-Fi network, it will wipe both his MMS & Internet APN settings and he either has to redownload, or input them manually.

I've had a scan around, but can't see any one with similar issues.

Any ideas or any one else having/had the same problem?

I've seen scads of "this phone is the only one having this issue" 4.3 update issues. This may be one of them. Wifi shouldn't even be touching the APN. The OS shouldn't be giving it write-access.

I've not come across this one, no. It's a weird one for sure; as noted above the APN settings have no bearing on wifi so it can't be anything directly connected - I'm guessing at a software issue which a factory reset may sort it out.

n.b. I'm still on the B.0.569 build; the more recent B.1.xxx update hasn't reached my handset yet, so it's possible that this a bug introduced in that one. I hope not... it's a pretty glaring issue to have been missed during testing.

He's still on B.0.569.

I'll get him to see if the update is available via PC Companion, then see if that sorts it. Regardless, I should see him through the week, so I'll have a mess about then.

If he's got an unbranded 'set (1270-7689) then it isn't yet - I checked an hour ago.

A "Repair install" via PCC might be worth a shot?
