Help APN settings Problem

Recently I have changed to another network and therefore new apn settings are needed. On my HTC wildfire s (unlocked) I enter these apn settings however the settings cannot be saved therefore cannot be accepted and selected. Anybody know of a fix to this problem?

Firstly, are you sure the phone is really unlocked?
secondly, is it a GSM or CDMA phone? I'm guessing CDMA, because with a GSM Phone (At least in the UK and mainland EU) it's just a case of putting the new SIM card in and away you go.
