Help App for making the mouse button "wake up" the DI

Subject says it all. I have no desire to change the lock screen. Just want to have the phone sitting on my desk and reach over and press the mouse button to wake it up. Does this exist?

Thanks!

If only it were that simple.
When I enable trackball wake on my Incredible, there is a note warning that trackball wake is not reliable on the Incredible. And that the dev is looking into it.

And on my phone it doesn't work.

The option is actually not specifically for the trackball, but it reads "Easy Wake Mode = press any hardware button to wake."

And all hardware buttons work to wake the phone, except the trackball press.

The warning reads as follows.

Easy Wake
Droid Incredible

The Droid Incredible might not reliably wake from the
Trackpad. Some users have reported that holding the
button down for several
seconds works.

I am actively investigating this
issue.

I don't know how actively he is investigating it, because I've had this app for months, and it still doesn't work, and there have been no new updates that I'm aware of.

It does work for me, usually not on the first press but the following two or three presses. Sometimes it does work for me on the first press. It's very erratic.

To the OP, this really is the best route as I have went down this road to find the best solution for exactly what you want. There are options within widgetlocker to have the phone look the exact same as you have it know. The default slider is there to use, you can still use the password screen.

I couldn't get it to work no matter how many times I pressed it or how long I held it down. Oh well.

To the OP:
Be advised. It doesn't work for everyone.

Been using the application on my Incredible and have to say the button works for me pretty well. The app was money well spent once the power button on my phone started to act up.

Out of the box, cm7 let's you wake the phone with the trackball

I know. But even that on my phone wasn't terribly reliable. It would work sometimes, and sometimes it wouldn't. Maybe my trackball button is faulty?
I never use it for anything, so I wouldn't know if it were.

Edit:
Well, just tried using it and it appears to work fine.

The volume buttons works every time so if the trackball isn't reliable enough for you just use those. You will like widgetlocker, it's fun to play around with.....for a little while anyway. There are alot of things you can do with it.

You should download widgetsoid too. Feature in there where you can put a widget on your homescreen to turn your screen off. I use this all the time. But I noticed there is a version out there that's 2.0 plus and 1.6 (referring to android versions). I use the 1.6, it seems to be more stable then 2.0 for some reason.

Off the top of my head, Widgetlocker, Ripple lock, and No Lock all wake the phone with any hardware button.

Well, it turns out neither Ripple Lock or No Lock have this feature. So then I tried Widget Locker. It does have the "wake" via trackball feature. But as some on this thread have reported, its spotty at best. I'm having to press the trackball 3 to 4 times to wake the phone. I un-installed it. Can't believe something this simple is not in the market....wow.

I know it does not say so in their settings, but they do. I have them both, and they both will wake the phone with the trackball or volume buttons.
