I was able to root and install "root uninstaller" to get rid of most of the bloat-ware on my Ascend Y. There are a couple of apps that I would like to get rid of, though, that can't be removed with Titanium Backup, or Root Uninstaller.
1) All Backup
2) FM Radio
I don't care to use Huawei's backup application, much more in favor of Titanium.
I don't listen to FM radio. Anyone have any ideas as to where to remove these? I've looked in the system apps folder, to no avail. (Root Explorer Lite)
Other than that, this baby is running great - and smooth as butter! ADW Launcher w/ most all bloatware removed. Netflix, Facebook, and a few other hearty apps and I still have roughly 40mb free space (which I think is a significant improvement over it's stock ability).
WirelessTether is working flawlessly, as well.
I'm quite surprised at the quality of the camera, I might add... it took a decent picture in some pretty poorly lit scenarios.
All in all, I feel pretty good about this purchase. I wanted the Galaxy SII - but not through ATT, their 3G coverage in my location is far from satisfactory, while Verizon is pretty decent. I'll wait for a super-nice Android phone to come out on Straight Talk CDMA and stick with this guy for the time being.
