I have googled this all night and cant figure out a solution. I am not great with computers. I am trying to run app inventor and it isn't reccognizing my phone on the blocks editor screen. It also doesn't reccognize the emulator. I tried running this in chrome and ie and none work. I also used the app inventor website to make sure my computer and browser settings are correct. Everything seems to be set up fine. I am running the latest java 6 update 27. Connect to phone is greyed out. Please help! I know it is probably an easy fix but windows 7 always makes thing difficult. Thanks in advance for any advise.

Make sure that USB debugging is enabled on your device. Under normal circumstances are you able to connect this device to your PC for like Mass Storage or Media Syncing?

Yes driver works fine. PC mode, mass storage, USB debug on, stay awake on. Every recommend setting is checked. It doesn't even recognize the emulator.

USB Connection --> Charge only
USB Debugging --> on
Working right here right now.

Try using the drivers linked in my signature....

Also, if you're using Firefox, you can't use NoScript - I used IE to load appinventor, and I am using JAVA 1.7.1 on my computer as well.

Downloaded the driver from your signature. Installed it. Block editor still not recognizing my phone. I am not sure it is the drivers because it also does not recognize the emulator. Not sure what java 1.7.1 is. I am going to try to do java 1.7.1 after i go to dinner with my wife. I cant seem to find a working download for 1.7.1. I am going to check torrents. Java.com cant find. Please excuse my ignorance. I am trying to learn. I know more about my phone than i do my computer. That is a fact.

Get the latest JAVA from java.com - I thought it said 1.7.1 when I ran the test, I might be mistaken....

if you have a 64bit machine, get both 32bit and 64bit installers and install both

It will not let me install the 32bit driver. Says that it is a 32 bit and my system is 64. It will not go through with the installation.
