Help App shortcuts on the lock screen

Any idea how I change the app shortcuts on the lock screen?

I will never, ever use that quick memo app (or whatever it is) and I use Textra as my default messaging app, but it's the LG default SMS app that appears on the lock screen.

Settings, Lock Screen, Shortcuts...Then it will show you your lock screen and underneath your shortcuts....Tap on a shortcut and at top you will see delete. To add, tap on plus sign and it will give you a list of apps you can add to your lock screen.

Thanks, but I don't have a shortcuts option in Settings > Lock Screen.

Mine is carrier locked by a UK network who take months to update their handsets so I wonder if there's an update which adds this that I'm missing.

Also, do you have a way of getting rid of that stupid multi coloured vortex thing when you unlock?

Oh, I have AT&T in US. The unlock vortex thing is under settings, lock screen and with mine it has a listing of Screen Swipe effect, where you can change the effect when unlocking screen.

Ah crap. I know here Verizon omits a lot of the app that make the phone awesome. That's why I went with AT&T (well one reason). Sorry couldn't help

Don't worry about it, I appreciate the attempt at helping. My network are normally pretty good, I've no idea why they've decided to take away some settings etc.

I've decided I'm putting the phone back anyway. Too many little things I don't like for me to justify paying what I'm paying for it.

What do you have the "screen lock" set to?
I hope this is what yo uneed.


In order to see other apps, you need to

1. Set lock screen to NONE
2. Go back in and set lock screen to SWIPE
3. Then under customize you'll see SHORTCUTS

You should then be able to change any of the five preset options.

I have the Sprint model and I'm able to change short cute.

Glad I could help.

Coming from HTC Sense, the LG UI is a bit confusing as some settings are buried in other settings.

I wish that app "shortcuts" could be used in the shortcut menu instead of just apps.

Yeah, I've come from Sony and there aren't nearly as many sub menus and options within options.
