I need to pick up a Xoom for my mom, so she can do so Geocaching. Does the Android Marketplace for tablets work the same way as it does for phones?

Specifically, I want to be able to download a compass and gps app. I have one for the Droid 2 and it's awesome. I want to make sure I can run that on the tablet as well.

The Android Marketplace works the same for any device running Android software. What apps are available are dependent on the particular device, but in general, whatever you want to do, "there's an app for that".
