Help App to sd question

When you move apps to the sd card and you flash a new rom, do your apps stay? When you reinstall the app, does it know that you have a copy on your sd card?

Moving the app to the SD card does nothing more than free up space on your phone. It still needs to be "installed" to your phone - wiping data still uninstalls your apps, even if you have an SD card with the apps moved to them, and reinstalling them will just overwrite the part of them that resides on your SD card. When you move from ROM to ROM, you still need to re-download (or restore) your apps - Apps2SD doesn't help that.

To do what you want, you need Titanium Backup or another similar backup app.

I already use titanium backup. I am merely asking if when you re-install does it know that you have a copy on your sd card.

If you do an upgrade, it should know where all your apps are.

If you do a clean install (format data or factory reset) and reinstall the app, most apps won't know about the sd version if they normally install on the phone.

it was on twitter, it was a rant about people purchasing apps, moving to sd card, removing sd card, then refunding the app...
