App updated, gingerbread no longer supported :(

Hi all

Both myself and my wife bought "Zombies! Run" and have been using on our old gingerbread phones (Samsung galaxy mini & Huawei G300) for a short time.

We tried to use this app in the past couple of days and it was no longer available.

I emailed the developer and got the response that only android 4.0+ will work with this app now due to features they want to implement and piracy problems. Also they are not willing to give me the old version or a refund as indicated in the email i got from them. (in the show button)

Thanks for your email! To explain the situation:

We recently updated the app to version 2.0, which replaced version 1 in the app store. Unfortunately, Zombies, Run! 2.0 is only available to users with devices running Android 4.0+. This was a difficult decision for us, but in order to make Zombies, Run! on Android as stable and advanced as we wanted it to be, it was necessary for us to limit the app to these versions of Android. It's possible that we may look into back-porting the app to earlier versions in the future, but we don't yet have any concrete plans to do so.

Given that we are soon to cease support for Zombies, Run! 1, and that we are keen to prevent piracy with the increased DRM-protection present in Zombies, Run! 2, we are no longer able to distribute Zombies, Run! 1 in any form. I'm afraid we are also unable to offer refunds for Zombies, Run! 1.

Where do I stand on this, as basically they have said, you cant have the app you paid for and you are not having a refund. I expected more for an app that cost a fiver.

If it makes any difference, the app is now called "Zombies! Run 2", number 1 is not there at all.

Thank you, the Google Play refund worked a treat.

I tried giving the company a few more chances but they kept fobbing me off. Now I know they are not good people I won't have a hard time telling anyone who has the same problem exactly what to type to get their money back.

Thats a shame man. Its a cool game too.
Not sure if (in a case like this) the forum rules allow guiding someone to find an older version of the game(?)

Ah, no worries, my wife is well into map my run now, she loves the statistics it records and she wont "Zombies! Run" out of principle now.
