Help App updates not downloading

Hi all

Just recently I've been having problems downloading app updates. They hang at the start of the download and I have to restart the phone to get them to download. I'm using the new Market and have been for a few months; it was working fine until a few weeks ago and I haven't made any major changes.

I've tried clearing cache in Market and Market Updater (no data or cache to clear) as advised on previous threads. My Google apps are working away quite happily.

Anyone got any ideas?

I heard of this... I even think that it happened to me a while ago. When you say you hvae the latest version of the market, which version is it? I had a version (the new one with better pics, etc) that was pushed out to my device, but have had this version on my phone for ages and had no issues!
 
When an update download hangs I don't restart. I press long on the download bar, get the cancel button, cancel and start the download again. Most times then the downoad is successfully :)

Which version of the market is it? The current is 3.3.12 (I think).

If the downlaods are hanging, there are 2 folders on your SD Card android_secure and LOST.DIR. Move them to your PC, reboot the phone and see if that works.

Hey EP

I'm on 3.3.11 which I downloaded from a file link I got from a post here (reputable poster). I'll found and moved LOST.DIR but couldn't find a folder called android_secure. Rebooted and voila!

Weird though, as it's normally the android_secure folder which contains the files that cause the problem.

As long as you're sorted though. :)

Just updated Market from DURX's link and 7 app updates are zipping along :)

UPDATE

After just returning from a trip to London I have identified that this issue seems to be related to my WiFi connection at home as all updates installed instantly with no problems at all on my friend's connection while away. At home I use static IP to help try to stabilise my signal but the download delays occur irrespective of whether I use static IP or not.
