Help App2SD questions

After in stalling several Apps to the phone I get a notification that I can move it to the SD card, which I do. But I notice when I do that the file size is always smaller than when it's not on the card. When I move an app to the card does it then run the app from the card or is it still embedded in the phone somewhere and just accesses the SD card when needed? A few days ago my DX rebooted itself and now all of the app icons that are running from the SD card or gone, in it's place is just a default icon, which still runs the app. Just the original icon is now gone.

it puts both the APK and the DATA on the SD just in two different spots.
there usually here
APK - /mnt/asec/
DATA - /data/data/
And to get the normal icon back. long press on home screen, press shortcuts, applications. all your apps will be there.

App 2 SD just added a new feature. It now cleans out cache. I went from about 100 meg free to 170 meg.
