WHen you install apps from the market does it read the MicroSD partition as the phone's ROM and install it there automatically?

Or does it install into your phone and then you get the option to move it to the MicroSD partition?
If so, does the app leave a 'footprint' on the phone's internal ROM or does the whole app go to the MicroSD?

If it does only install into the MicroSD, can you choose to have some apps in the phone and some in your SD?

If the MicroSD partition is being read as the phone's ROM then there shouldn't be any problems with apps that access files around the phone right..?

A2SD+, the root version (as oppossed to A2SD on Froyo) silently installs the app on the SD card as you're right, it sees it as the phones memory.

It installs the app and the delvik Cache to the SD card. There will still be a tiny footprint, but it is really nominal.
