Apparently Virgin Mobile USA doesn't know how to cancel an order

As many of us have done, I previously ordered the HTC Evo V 4G from both Radioshack.com and Virgin Mobile USA via their website. I cancelled Virgin's order first via phone to a gentleman who claimed he would make sure that the cancellation would go through. Apparently he failed to do his job. Now Fed Ex is sending me a phone that I already have... dammit.

Radioshack.com despite hiding their "Yes, I want to cancel" button cancelled my order online just fine.

If you already bought your phone elsewhere and got it, and have recently "cancelled" your VM order, I'd recommend check your bank account or Paypals to see if some moron failed to cancel your order.

And now to start the insanely long RMA process... ugh!

Refuse the delivery.
That's what VM told me to do if the phone "happened" to ship.
It arrives tomorrow and I'm all set to refuse it.
FedEx, however, has a habit of letting "front door" sign for packages :/

I'll leave a note on my front door for Fed Ex to refuse the shipment. Fed Ex does the front door thing at my house too and knowing how this order will probably ship ground, I probably won't see it for a week.

I'm glad I'm not too tight on money at the moment, but this move on their part just frustrates me that I have to take these measures. Especially when they told me it cancelled. :(

they cancel mine yesterday and they charge my paypal account today .....now they told me to call paypal and open a dispute ....

Add me to the list. I cancelled my order on Saturday, at that point my card was not charged. I checked my order status on VM's site, it showed status: cancelled. Late Sunday night I noticed the charge on my card from Virgin.

I have my own Virgin horror story. I placed my order on Friday, June 1 and heard back nothing, not even a confirmation of my order. I even called Virgin to track my order with no success.

Then on Sunday, two days later, I receive a "problem with payment" notice (the first from Virgin since I placed the order). I called them back and they verified that they had the correct credit card info, but I was never clear about what the "problem" was. I was so disgusted with Virgin at this point that I cancelled the order.

Three hours later I noticed that I had a charge on my credit card from Virgin. I had to call the credit card company to dispute this charge.

I'm glad I switched to Radio Shack even with their own problems!

Add me to the list. I canceled the order on Saturday and the guy first said he couldn't cancel it. A request would have to be sent to HQ's in wich they would take three days to investigate my canceling the order. I was a little irate at this and informed him it hadn't even charged my card yet and asked to speak to a supervisor. He came back a couple of minutes later and informed me the order was cancelled. Apparantly not because my bank account now shows I was billed on Sunday for it. I am not happy with VM at all.

We need a poll to see who wins

People ordering and complaining the phones don't arrive fast enough.

or

People canceling and complaining the order was already processed.

the order that radioshack canceled back on the 31st is still pending in my bank account. waiting til that clears before do anything.

Did the payment clear or is it still pending? If it's pending, that's just a hold on the funds. Once the pending window of time passes and VM sends a cancellation through, the funds will no longer be on hold. My funds are still on hold from the VM order.

My Radio Shack order is still pending but if it somehow completes like the VM one did (despite being cancelled), I think I should just become the merchant from Resident Evil 4 and fill my trenchcoat with phones.

I don't see why people haven't called fedex (800-463-3339, press 0 then 0 then 2) and tell the rep you want to stop shipment and return to sender. just make something up like it was going to the wrong address or that you moved.

I ordered the phone through VM Thursday, cancelled it Saturday when I found it in the store. Noticed a pending charge on my card Sunday night, called Monday to ensure it was cancelled. They assured me. Today I received the phone in the mail, after being told twice by VM the order was cancelled. It might be a free phone. After all I've been through with this thing, I don't feel all that guilty.

Not a half bad idea actually. But after it gets shipped back do we get refunded or what?

EDIT: Went ahead and called for the heck of it, the lady was fine with me cancelling it. I didn't have to lie or anything... lol. 2nd EDIT: Virgin said I should be refunded when they get the phone back. Cool.

I highly doubt they will give you a $300 dollar phone for free. And I was told my was cancelled too, you probably have been charged. =/

Virgin mobile canceled my order no problems. The freeze on my funds was just lifted and I wasn't charged for anything.

I received my extra phone today and VM told me to ship it back to the return address on the box in Plainfield, IN. They said to use the order number as my RMA# and write that on the box. It took over 30 minutes to get this information from them on the phone. They said to expect the refund to appear on my card within 4 to 8 business days of the time the receive the phone.

Same here, sent mine to Plainfield today. I asked the first rep who was paying for the shipping, she responded "you are." At that point I asked for a supervisor and got them to pick up the shipping cost.

Way to show it to them. That's BS to make you pay for their mistake. Fed Ex left me a voicemail this morning confirming that the package is being refused. Left a note on my door today just in case they would drop it by and thankfully they didn't. Hoping to see my money back soon.

When you order from VM do you get a confirmation email from them said your phone has shipped? Right now it says completed on the status.
