So I called Verizon and complained on the batttery life so I could anoter one for free. But it turned out to be the opposite; one of their reps advised me I should install this application to prolonge my battery

Appkiller

What yalll think.

Some people never learn. I try to tell my wife that the app killer is bad to use. she wont listen and why should we waste our breath lol.

AppKiller has a bad reputation because a few bloggers decided to start trashing it. They claim that Android is supposed to manage memory automatically and therefore you don't need an Appkiller. Unfortunately, Android doesn't work that way for me. There have been many times Appkiller has come in handy for me after playing laggy games. I've had to use Appkiller after playing Angry Birds and Toss It a few times, otherwise they run in the background reduce the performance of the device. I can say 100% that AppKiller has improved performance for me in these situations.

Some people swear by AppKiller, others loathe it. See what works for yourself.

the games dont actually run in the background. they are in a saved state and cached. what happen if you toss a bird, then exit out of the game before it crashes into a pig? when you go back AB its paused. I was not actually using any CPU cycles and was basically cached.

Task killers automatically killing shit is bad, dont use them

What can I say. It works for me in these instances. Though, I should probably say that it's probably not going to help save battery power. The rep was just trying to drop the call.

I have tested phones with and without app killer. Without exception; they all run better without app killer.

It was needed prior to 2.1; But with 2.2 or higher; it is a waste; and will do more harm than good.

Like everyone else said, it's not recommended by some and loved by others. It's not "officially" recommended by most, but it can't hurt much to use it if you want.
