I know, I wikipedia'd it. Though I think they could have come up with a better name for it. Look at ping. That's a relatively innocent name.

Also, I think the wording Apple chose for instructions is quite interesting if you are not in the right frame of mind.

Forty years ago when the original Finger program was written, I don't think the connotation was as universally recognized as it is now. If I recall, it was more common to refer to fingering someone as identifying them, usually in the context of some nefarious activity.
