Application and Widget install directory

Alright, I'm exposing myself to ridicule here, but I've been searching on the forums and google for days now and can't seem to find this out: Where the heck do most apps and widgets install to on the Vibrant? My /system/app only has maybe 10% of my apps, and only a few widgets...none of which are the ones I want to pull out, modify, then push back. I'm navigating to that directory using adb. I've also looked at every other directory I can see, and can't find where widgets like Vlingo, SmoothCalendar, etc are placed. Where are those apk's?

Well, I found what I was looking for using Root Explorer, which saw the /data/app folder. But, why didn't ADB see this folder also?

Dunno, but I have noticed ES File Explorer doesn't display certain folder contents that Root Explorer will.
