Help application cannot be installed in the default install location

I get this trying to install an app from google play

I know it's not a 'insufficient space' issue as the app is 23MB & I I have 231MB of 1.97GB available (unless the 1.97 GB is storage PLUS RAM SHARED)

SO is there any way to workaround it e.g. installing the app to USB storage?

I'm STILL having having this problem with another app & I'm sure 236MB isn't less sufficient space than 43MB

Surely I can't be the only Galaxy S2 user that ever had this issue in the history of Android OS?

I suspect that the problem is that it isn't leaving enough free space. On Gingerbread with my old phone you'd get space warnings if less than 10% was free, and 236 - 43 = 193 which is less than 197 (10%). Android likes to keep some working space, and will stop installing if it thinks that won't leave enough.

Try clearing some app caches - if freeing up 4MB lets you install then that will confirm the suspicion.
