Help application data backup

How do I backup application data such as saved games. I have android 2.1 and I want to backup everything before upgrade to 2.2

you can only backup all your data if you are rooted, and then use an application such as titanium backup. from what most people on here have said they didnt lose anything during the update, but maybe had to reinstall an app or 2

That's good to know. I just assumed I would lose any data not saved to an sd card when i upgraded the OS. Although I would think being able to make a complete backup of what's on your phone should be a standard feature on any phone
